I hate these two actors

Posted by muserati on September 30, 2007

These two are the worst actors I’ve ever seen onscreen. I think they’ve got no talent.

One is irritating to watch while the other is irritating with the jokes he’s trying to pull.

I won’t dignify them further with a longer post. Just watch this video. Don’t mind the ad.

For some reason I couldn’t embed the video :-(

I hope the video doesn’t take long to load. It’s hella funny. :-) )

Moo!

Where the Flavor Is

Posted by muserati on September 29, 2007

I used to work (emphasis on used to) in a big company. My work entailed that I go around parts of the country especially parts of Luzon. I never thought I’d end up working in such kind of , er… work.

I remember, when I was still a cute little boy (I’m a guy you see) in Grade School. I’d hate this little subject called Cultural Studies. It wasn’t the culture that I hated but the geography part. I hate that you had to memorize all these regions in the country. I used to think that, when I grow old, I wouldn’t need them.

Fate has a funny way of bitch slapping you with reality. Years later, I’m assigned to the biggest island in the country. During the first few months, I groped around the map. Where was Cabanatuan? Where’s Pangasinan? Where’s Pampanga? Where’s Cagayan? That’s when I realized that some subjects you took up before do have their purpose. I still haven’t found that same purpose though, for Physics and Chemistry.

I’ve so much stories I can tell you about the work I used to have. (Sorry, I don’t have many stories about my friends or other social topics because my social life got screwed while I was working my ass of). Imagine, my typical week was this -

Weekdays:

Go to office.

Go to home (late in the evening).

When not in the office, I’m in the provinces.

When going to the provinces, 50-60% of the time is spent on land travel.

When I arrive at the site, it’s yadda yadda with colleagues there or do assigned tasks.

When going back to Manila, 30% travel and 20-30% snoring. We had a driver for very long journeys (like going to Baguio or Mountain Province)

Weekends:

Dead tired so I end up catching up on sleep.

Due to that, I sort of lost touch with my friends. Even my close friends.

So after my resignation, I started to value time. But enough of those. I’m almost in tears. Ha.

Once, we had a long trip. From Manila to Sagada and back. The pit stop of the entire trip was at er, uh, okay sorry I’m not good with names. It’s a small inn along the major highway. We can go there and I’ll show you where it is. Bwahaha.

The place was cozy. The weather was nothing you’ll find elsewhere in the country. It’s colder than Baguio. It’s dead silent in the night. And people there listen to Achy Breaky Heart. (They listen to country music!)

You have breathtaking views. These are the parts of the country you don’t see in WOW Philippines. The one below is a picture I took with my crappy Canon Power Shot.

I’d like to borrow that tagline of Marlboro -

Come to where the flavor is. Come to Mountain Province.

Imagine, even with a low tech camera, I still capture the grandeur of this panoramic view. Folks, it’s places like these that our country has to offer. It’s a shame I didn’t have a better camera.

I wish more people traveled around their OWN country instead of spending money in other countries like ____, ____ or____ (you fill in the blanks). It is ridiculous to hear that a trip to Boracay is more expensive than a trip to Hong Kong. What???
