I was looking through my mobile phone for all the bloggable notes I created there in my PC’s absence last week. My cellphone is close to conking out due to the volume of notes I’ve created. Before I go on with today’s blog entry (another synchronincident), allow me to make one gripe.
Nokia releases gazillions of new models each year, and though it’s (still) my favorite brand of mobile phone, I’ve been disappointed with the quality of their recent products.
They tout their huge memory capacity for applications, messages, notes. But trust me when I say that if you store well over a hundred messages, and an equal amount of calendar notes, reminders, et. al., your old reliable starts to hang for no reason. A slowed down phone would’ve been tolerable, but hanging? What’s this? Windows syndrome?
As that trite saying goes, “They don’t make ‘em like they used to.”
Well, soon, in the future, offsprings (whether human or animal) may just be the shining example of that cliche. Babies might be made in a test tube (which by the way is already happening), with modified genes for specified considerations. It’s a possibility what with the progress made already. One interesting study is the one made by the Japanese. From the same people who brought us Transformers, Mangga, Anime, et. al. comes another breakthrough! Hehe
A friend of mine forwarded me a link to a Japanese video that showed a genetically modified rodent. The rodent was programmed to NOT be afraid of cats. Imagine, they can now turn off fear instincts. What will happen to Fear Factor?? (I don’t watch that by the way)
His link I lost, so I searched it on the net, and came up with this news piece. I don’t know how to turn off the ad, so just bear with it for 11 secs. Another link also has an ad, but there’s a matching article, plus it has the original Jap video my friend sent me, and with subtitles!
Where’s the synchronicity there?
Well, the first time my friend sent me the link, we both didn’t know what it was about. Then two days after, I read in The Philippine Star about a Japanese research study that modified the genes of a rodent and made it play along with its archnemesis, a cat. So bingo! I realized what the video was all about. Coincidence? No! Synchronicity! Hehe.
Oh Oh! This is creepilicious (Created December 31, 2007, 2:51AM). In the same news video as the genetically modified rodent, there’s a special news on the year’s most used baby names. Guess what’s on the list? Madison! To know more of Madison, read my earlier blog entry.
