El Niño hits Philippine Olympic Team

The country was recently beset by a heavy downpour of rain in the past few days. In Beijing, there’s been a similar downpour, only this time, it’s tears falling from the eyes of our defeated athletes. We’ve effectively exited the games with nil medals. According to this, the last medal we won was in the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. Talk about the cycle of El Niño.
The Philippines needs its own Redeem Team. Outside of the Summer Olympics, we’ve managed to notch some victories like what Wesley So (and the Philippine Chess Team) recently did in Turkey. Chess is not a sport for everyone since it’s not as riproaring as say, basketball or soccer. People in this here 7,107 islands should take notice of chess more. I think we have undiscovered talents waiting to be picked.
Tshomlee Go failed to win a medal, bowing to his opponent in similar fashion to Harry Tanamor. It’s a sad day for us as we continue counting the years that we don’t have medals in this world event.
This newsbite is interesting, according to it, (supposedly) athletes in red almost always wins.

If you want to win, wear red
